INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO USE GEOGEBRA TO PRACTICE VECTOR GRAPHING
Go to figure 1 shown below. Next on you left screen find text 1, then do step 1.
Step 1: Delete text1 by selecting it and then selecting ⊠
Step 2: Delete conic equation labeled "c" and "d" and then selecting ⊠
Step 3: Display the grid lines
Step 4: Select point icon
Step 5: Click the origin, (0,0) as you first point A, next click (4,0) as your point B, next click (4,1) as your point C and click (0,1) as your point D
Step 6: Display the vector icon
Step 7: Click the point C (4,1), next drag to point D(0,1) . Vector tells the direction of arrow is pointing to West or to your left side of your screen.
Step 8: Click the point A (0,0), next drag to point B ( 4, 0). Vector tells the direction of this arrow is pointing to East or to your right side of your screen.
Step 9: Conclusion both vectors have the same length (also called magnitude) but both arrows have different direction. Therefore the two vectors are not the same or equal.
Step 10: New Lesson: to add vector u + v , in input box enter "u+v" then press enter button. You will get zero as the answer. You can play by moving any points. First select the move arrow icon then move any points. and see how the sum of the two vectors changes its value.
