Vector Addition

Sum of vector current is zero (0) in a balanced symmetrical three phase grounded electric system. So any non-zero summation of vector current would be an indicator that some inbalance current is flowing through the grounded neutral circuit. But in real electric three phase network there is always unbalance loading, so applying sum of vector current principle needs algorithm to compensate for unbalance loading.

Shown below are the two methods of doing vector addition. The first method is by using the graphical solution. Using vector equation c= a + u + v = 0. And the second method using phasor. Using vector equation d = u + w + b = 0.
